Entries are open to all legally registered organizations within the East Africa Maritime industry and who offer/provide their services from the Port of Mombasa.

Each award category has its own independent eligibility criteria. Kindly refer to it to ensure you are submitting your entry using the appropriate criteria.

Entries must be for projects, services or initiatives that have been implemented within the period covering January 2019 to September 2020.

You will be required to submit your entry online through either logging on to https://www.eama.co.ke/submissions of entry page or through the URL shared and filling in the provided fields with required information (attaching any supporting documents.

All entries will be fully submitted online. No physical paper/hard copy entries will be accepted.

An organization can enter in as many categories as they so wish as long as they qualify as per the category qualifications.

Yes, as long as the deadline has not passed. The system will allow you to edit your entry until the due date.

Submission of entries to EAMA 2020 does not attract any fee i.e. it is free of any charges. No charge is currently levied on any of the category

The EAMA secretariat will contact you through the email you will have provided to confirm that your application was received.

The results will be announced by the Chief Judge at the Awards Gala dinner on 21st May, 2021. The nominees and winners will also be announced at this event.

A team of 7 - 9 judges comprising of high caliber and well respected individuals in the industry, from varied areas such as academia, private sector and public sector as well as diversity in gender and professional backgrounds forms the panel for the 2020 EAMA. The team will be made public at the EAMA Award gala dinner.

PKF East Africa is the judging process partners, they are the ones who will audit the entire judging process.

A panel of expert judges drawn from various disciplines will determine the winners in each category as per set criteria. The judge’s decisions will be informed by assessment of information provided in the entry documents. The panel of judges will contact entrants directly for any additional information or clarifications they might require to help them in the judging process. The Judges’ decision is final. The judging process in some cases as indicated in the judging criteria will rely heavily on market survey. In such cases, the survey will be conducted by Research 2020 Limited, an independent firm that was selected as our research partner.

Nominations will occur when an organization nominates self or is nominated by a third party (agency) on its behalf. Submissions on the other end is when one presents the required documents and supporting materials.

The judging process is guided by a well thought out set of requirements which help ensure that only the best entries win. Some of the considerations include:  Quality of information  Relevance of the information provided  How information is presented; visual appeal & typography.  Presentation of supporting statistics and data against the project/campaign goals

Yes, a lot of helpful information is carried on the form. Additionally, you can also attend the EAMA breakfast launch briefing on 9th December 2020 or the scheduled stakeholder engagements thereafter. If you are unable to attend any and would need guidance with how to submit winning entries, please do get in touch with the EAMA secretariat.

A Trophy for winner position in every category  Certificates for the 1st & 2nd runner up positions in every category  Shortlist and winners list will be published on EAMA Website, social media accounts, EAMA special Supplement, Publications and on any accompanying press appearances/releases or articles thereby giving publicity to those brands.

Yes. All materials are handled and treated with utmost confidentiality by authorized EAMA personnel and panel of judges.

No. However, for the winning entries EAMA will liaise with the submitting party to seek approval from them for publication and also for advisory on any sensitive information that they would not wish published.

All the EAMA 2020 selected winners will be feted at an Awards Gala Dinner held in Mombasa, on Friday 21st May, 2021.
