INTRODUCTION
East Africa Maritime Awards (EAMA) now in its 2nd edition is a strategic and noble initiative of
the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in collaboration with Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), Kenya
Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade), Shippers Council of Eastern
Africa (SCEA) and East African Business Council (EABC) who strongly subscribe to the aims specified
below:
• Promotion of excellent service delivery and overall industry development
• Appreciation and recognition of exceptional contribution by industry players
• Encouragement of innovation, creativity and strict adherence to industry regulatory standards
• Encouragement of healthy competition among regional industry players and adoption of best
practice(s) cited globally in respective sectors’ services delivery.
The awards are East Africa’s Maritime Business solitary celebration and recognition of individuals
and organizations on specified initiatives at a grandiose Gala Dinner that is hosted to incentivize
businesses and encourage overall growth within the maritime industry. The EAMA 2020 Gala dinner
is scheduled to take place in Mombasa, Kenya.
